Fives Lund is urgently seeking an experienced Electrical/Controls Engineer for our office located in Seattle, Washington to oversee the implementation of custom-engineered solutions for exceptional machines. Each project is unique, and we’re looking for someone who enjoys analyzing complicated systems and proactively coming up with solutions to challenging problems.

Main Tasks/Responsibilities:

• Produces well laid-out, organized, and referenced electrical schematics
• Designs power cabinets, selects components, and sizes conductors for electrical panels
• PLC programming to integrate motors, I/O, HMIs, and other components into functional machinery
• Collaborates with mechanical engineers, purchasing agents, electricians and assembly technicians to build and deliver machines
• Leads code-compliant risk assessments and integrates safety into every stage of the project
• Manages project schedules and bid proposals as needed
• Develops supplier scope of work (SSOW) documents for electrical contractors
• Troubleshoots and debugs industrial automation systems
• Interacts with customers remotely and at project sites as needed during commissioning and delivery

Our ideal candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering required
• 7 years experience preferred (5 years required)
• AutoCAD Electrical experience a plus
• Ability to proactively anticipate potential problems and propose solutions
• Ability to analyze complicated systems
• Experience with servo systems, VFDs, Ethernet networks, PLC and HMI programming
• Design of 480VAC as well as low-voltage cabinets and distribution systems
• Understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Work with multi-axis synchronized machinery a plus
• PLC programming in Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and/or B&R development suites and other IEC 61131 environments a plus

Compensation: The salary range for this position ranges from $105,365-$136,355 annually, depending on education and experience.
